Thanks. I've been a little tense lately working on the synopsis for my book. MAN ... do you have any idea how much goes into a synopsis? They have whole books dedicated to the subject! And synopsises are usually just a couple pages long. Mine is six, which would be considered at least twice as long as it should be. But then, my book is a huge two-book epic (and some do allow you more space for that.) Still, reading it over and over and over, editing and editing. Think I'll take today off. I need a break.
I know it sounds silly, because it's just a summary, but it isn't. There are so many rules you have to follow, and points you have to make. They basically judge your whole book's merit on the synopsis! And not only that, it's what they usually take as the proposal to the executive board! It's crazy because my book is HUGE, and it comes down these few pages. I'm absessive-compulsive by the way ... in case it doesn't show. When I start a project I get all nervous and on edge until it's completed. I'm also a profectionist. But I am still feeling better.
